CHEERLEADING PROGRAM

AMA Cheerleading is an activity for girls 4th through 8th grade which includes cheering, stunting, and dance. The season begins with a 2 day cheer camp in July followed by practices beginning in August on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, at Copello Park from 5pm-7pm, with games every Saturday. The season runs through the end of October and further if the boys make it to playoffs.

The cost for participation is $350, which covers uniforms, camp, and general costs to run the program. A mandatory payment of $150 is due at the first meeting in July.

The success of this program comes from the commitment of the girls on the squad. Each practice is packed with activities to prepare them for the games.

SEASON COMMITMENT:

• Before Season
• Applications must be completed and turned in.
• Cheerleader physicals must be completed and turned in.
• Cheerleader copies of registered birth certificates must be turned in.
• Financial responsibility must be established. ($150.00 down payment due at 1st meeting)
• Practices
• 1st week in August - Tuesday through Thursday – 5:00pm to 7:00pm - Copello Park
• Each practice is packed with activities to prepare for the games.
• Games
• Games begin during the 4th week of the season usually on Saturdays, with one game on Sunday.
• Game times and locations TBD.
• Cheerleaders will need to be at game location ½ hour prior to game time.
• Home games - parents are expected to work an hour shift at gate, booth, snack shack, chain gang or clean up at each home game.
• Other Information
• Team Photos will be taken usually during the 4th week of practice. Cost is separate. Full uniform required.
• End of Season Banquet TBD, usually potluck. Trophies and photos handed out.
• We participate in the Mother Lode Youth Athletic Conference. (MLYAC)

SIGN UP DATES:           

• Saturday, April 17th and May 1st. - 9:00am to 11:00am at Copello Park.
• Or mail in an application with check to above address prior deadline.
• Cheerleader application deadline is July 3, 2010 or 1st meeting in July.  Late applications will not be accepted. 

COST OF PROGRAM:

• $ 300.00      Registration Fee
• $   25.00      Volunteer Fee (Mandatory 5 hours of volunteering)

MANDATORY DEPOSIT OF $150.00 IS DUE AT 1ST MEETING IN JULY

• Registration Fee:  This fee covers the cost of insurance, uniforms, camp and general cost to operate program.
• Volunteer Fee:  As most of you know, AMA Cheerleading is 100% run by volunteers.  Unfortunately, much of the responsibility of running this program and teaching our kids falls on a small group of people.  While we all enjoy our contribution to our community, we are limited in the amount of time we can spend on creating the best cheer experience for our children.  As a Club, we are always looking for ways to improve and enrich your family’s experience, but we cannot do that without the help of our volunteers.  Therefore, this year it will be MANDATORY to volunteer at least 5 HOURS of your time throughout the season.  AMA will keep track of your hours on a sign in sheet and refund your $25.00 at the end of the season when your hours are tallied.  Should you have more than one child involved in this program, only one volunteer fee is applicable.
• Sponsor Fee:  AMA especially depends on our cheer program sponsorships to help offset the ever-increasing costs of football gear and equipment, cheerleading gear, insurance, referee fees, etc.  If we could get one $25.00 sponsor in addition to each cheerleader registration fee, our program would be able to secure a better financial position for a successful season.
